Welcome to 2024

Hello, beekeeping community! We're buzzing with excitement to announce that we're back in action today, Janaury 8th, marking the beginning of an exciting beekeeping season ahead.

In the aftermath of recent storms and flooding, it's vital to visually check your bees (no inspections yet!), ensuring they weathered the challenges well. Hefting is key, and don't forget to stock up their pantry! Need a top-up? Fondant is your go-to supplement: https://www.bshoneybees.co.uk/fondant12.

For those utilising Api Bioxal (Oxalic Acid) for Varroa treatment, it should've been completed by now. With temperatures dropping, anticipate a brood break and apply accordingly if not already completed.

The Beekeeping Show in Telford on February 24th, 2024, is just around the corner. Pre-orders kick off mid-January, so stay tuned! Subscribe to our mailing list on our homepage https://www.bshoneybees.co.uk to be the first in the loop.

As we gear up for a fantastic year, take a moment to reflect on 2023. Share your plans and aspirations for 2024, weather permitting, of course! My personal highlight? Spending a day with my 5-year-old, Millie, checking Overwintered Nucs in late July 2023. A truly memorable beekeeping moment!
